Wie schon 2013 gibt es wieder eine Umfrage der EuCheMS zur Berufssituation der Chemiker in Europa. Unter http://www.euchems.eu/esec2 kann jeder interessierte Chemiker teilnehmen. Die Ergebnisse werden den Teilnehmern mitgeteilt.
Letztes Mal wurde auch ein frei zugängliches Paper zur Umfrage veröffentlicht, das unter https://doi.org/10.1002/chem.201501364 zu erreichen ist.
Chemjobber hatte hierzu ein paar kritische Anmerkungen gemacht:
It seems goofy to report the salaries of chemists and chemical engineers together (it would be in the US, anyway, dunno about Europe.)

There was no attempt to understand who did not answer the survey. What was the response rate?
There was no description of the survey instrument. (Was it online or on paper?)
There was no explanation of responses removed from the survey or why, just that it was „rigid.“ We know that they focused on people who graduated in the last 15 years, but that they have a respondent who is 87 years old (did they throw that person out?).
Vielleicht werden diese in der nächsten Auswertung ja berücksichtigt. Ich finde es schon gut, dass sich jemand dieses Themas annimmt, natürlich wäre es schön, wenn auch offizielle Zahlen aus den Arbeitsagenturen und -ämtern berücksichtigt werden könnten. Falls es diese überall gibt…
Die Frist für die Teilnahme läuft übrigens nur noch bis zum 31. März 2017.
